Motorists should be advised that an overnight closure is scheduled to occur on the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) collector-distributor (C-D) road from State Road 417 the nights of Tuesday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 16.
The road will close as soon as 10 p.m. each night and will reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.
Detours will be in place for motorists traveling to westbound I-4. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Please click here to view the detour map.
C-D roads are extra lanes between interstates and lower-speed local roads. They provide access to and from the interstate and help motorists transition between lower and higher speeds.
The closure is necessary for the milling and resurfacing of the road. Milling and resurfacing will create a smoother roadway for motorists and extend the life of the pavement. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Please continue to use caution while driving through active construction zones. Remember to always be alert while riding or driving.
