ATTENTION DRIVERS: Westbound I-4 Exit Ramp to Eastbound S.R. 528 to Close Nightly April 13-17

Motorists are advised that the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to eastbound State Road (S.R.) 528 (Beachline Expressway) will be closed nightly starting Sunday, April 13, through Thursday night, April 17. Each night, the ramp is scheduled to close as early as 10 p.m. and is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the final reopening on the morning of Friday, April 18.

The closures are necessary to allow crews to prepare to shift traffic onto the new ramp lane. The operation is a critical step in the project to widen the ramp from one to two lanes, improving capacity and traffic flow at this busy interchange.

Motorists traveling west on I-4 to S.R. 528 will exit early, at Exit 75B, to southbound Kirkman Road (S.R. 435) and proceed to the Sand Lake Road (S.R. 482) ramp, staying in the left lane and turning left at the traffic signal. From eastbound Sand Lake Road, motorists will turn right onto southbound John Young Parkway (S.R. 423), proceeding to S.R. 528. See the attached map for detailed detour information.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

This project will widen the westbound I-4 exit ramp to eastbound S.R. 528 from one lane to two lanes, improving capacity and traffic flow.

The project began in January 2024 and is anticipated to reach completion in 2026.

Please continue to use caution while driving through active construction zones. Remember to always be alert while riding or driving.
