ATTENTION DRIVERS: Overnight Closures of the Westbound I-4 Exit Ramp to Eastbound S.R. 528 September 21 to 24

Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing nightly closures of the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to eastbound State Road (S.R.) 528 (Beachline Expressway) at Exit 72 from Sunday, September 21, through Wednesday, September 24.

The closure will begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the last closure opening on the morning of Thursday, September 25. This closure is necessary to perform a traffic shift on the ramp.

NOTE: If the traffic shift is not completed on the night of Wednesday, September 24, then Thursday night, September 25, will serve as a backup date for the operation.

See detour information and map below.

Motorists traveling west on I-4 who wish to access S.R. 528 will be directed to exit early at Exit 75B and head south on Kirkman Road (S.R. 435) to Sand Lake Road (S.R. 482), staying in the left lane and turning left onto eastbound Sand Lake Road. From there, motorists will continue east, then turn right onto southbound John Young Parkway (S.R. 423), and proceed to S.R. 528.

FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

This work is part of the project to widen the westbound I-4 exit ramp to eastbound S.R. 528. These improvements will improve capacity and traffic flow at this busy interchange.
