Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing an overnight closure of the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to eastbound State Road (S.R.) 528 (Beachline Expressway) at Exit 72 on Sunday, March 29.
The closure will begin as early as 10 p.m. and is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.
These closures are necessary for pavement striping on the ramp. The work is part of the project to widen the westbound I-4 exit ramp to eastbound S.R. 528, which will improve capacity and traffic flow at this busy interchange upon completion.
Detour Information
Motorists traveling from westbound I-4 to eastbound S.R. 528 will exit early at Exit 75B and head south on Kirkman Road (S.R. 435) to Sand Lake Road (S.R. 482), staying in the left lane and turning left onto eastbound Sand Lake Road. From there, motorists will turn right onto southbound John Young Parkway (S.R. 423) and proceed to S.R. 528.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
