ATTENTION DRIVERS: Overnight Left-Turn Lane Closures at Sand Lake Road and Turkey Lake Road Intersection to Begin June 28

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will intermittently close left-turn lanes at the intersection of Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) and Turkey Lake Road beginning as early as Sunday, June 28. The closures are scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. each night and are expected to end by 6 a.m. the following morning.

Closures will vary by night based on construction activities. Multiple left-turn movements may be restricted at the same time.

The closures are scheduled for the following nights:

• Sunday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 1
• Monday, July 6, through Thursday, July 9
• Sunday, July 12, and Monday, July 13

The final closure is expected to end the morning of Tuesday, July 14.

During the closures, detours will be in place and signage will guide drivers around the work zone. Motorists should follow all posted signs, plan for extra travel time, and consider alternative routes.

These closures are necessary for force main installation at the Sand Lake Road and Turkey Lake Road intersection as part of the Interstate 4 (I-4) and Sand Lake Road interchange improvement project.

Detour: Left Turn from Eastbound Sand Lake Road to Northbound Turkey Lake Road

From eastbound Sand Lake Road, turn right onto southbound Turkey Lake Road. From there, turn right onto Lake Marie Way. Head west and then turn left onto eastbound Sand Lake Sound Road. Take another left to proceed northbound on Turkey Lake Road.

Detour: Left Turn from Southbound Turkey Lake Road to Eastbound Sand Lake Road

From southbound Turkey Lake Road, continue straight through the intersection. Turn right onto Lake Marie Way. Head west and turn left onto eastbound Sand Lake Sound Road. Take another left to proceed northbound on Turkey Lake Road. Turn right onto eastbound Sand Lake Road.

Detour: Left Turn from Northbound Turkey Lake Road to Westbound Sand Lake Road

Proceed through the intersection and continue north on Turkey Lake Road. From there, turn left onto Wallace Road and continue west. Turn left onto southbound Dr. Phillips Boulevard and continue south to reach Sand Lake Road.
