ATTENTION DRIVERS: Through Lanes on Northbound and Southbound Rinehart Road Closing Overnight June 16

Motorists should be advised that both through lanes on northbound and southbound Rinehart Road at the County Road (C.R.) 46A (H.E. Thomas Jr. Parkway) intersection are scheduled to be closed overnight on Sunday, June 16.

The closure is scheduled to start as soon as 9 p.m. Sunday, June 16, and is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Monday, June 17. This closure is necessary for signal box relocation and is part of the I-4 Beyond the Ultimate improvement project at C.R. 46A and Rinehart Road.

Motorists heading southbound on Rinehart Road are directed to use the right turn lane to turn right onto westbound C.R. 46A, continue west to International Parkway, turn left onto southbound International Parkway, and make a U-turn at the Park Place entrance. After turning north on International Parkway, motorists should turn right on C.R. 46A and proceed east to get back to southbound Rinehart Road.

Those heading northbound on Rinehart Road are directed to turn right onto eastbound C.R. 46A, turn left onto northbound Cherry Laurel Drive, turn left onto westbound C.R. 46A, and proceed west to get back to northbound Rinehart Road.

Traffic lights on the southwest corner of Rinehart Road will be out during the closure and law enforcement officers will be present to direct traffic. All lanes on C.R. 46A will remain open.

The C.R. 46A and Rinehart Road intersection improvement project is expected to increase traffic efficiency while reducing congestion at the I‑4 and C.R. 46A interchange. The enhancements will increase capacity at the intersection by modifying select existing turn lanes and adding new turn lanes. A third lane will also be added to southbound Rinehart Road between C.R. 46A and Timacuan Boulevard.

Construction started in fall of 2023 and is anticipated to reach completion in 2025.
