Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement an overnight closure of the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) at Exit 74A starting as early as 10 p.m. Wednesday night, January 7, through 6 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 8.
See the detour map and information below.
During the closure, motorists traveling westbound on I-4 who wish to access Sand Lake Road should take Exit 74B onto northbound Adventure Way. From there, motorists can either:
- Turn left onto westbound Hollywood Way, then turn left again onto southbound Turkey Lake Road and proceed to Sand Lake Road west of I-4.
- Turn right onto eastbound Hollywood Way, then turn right again onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to Sand Lake Road east of I-4.
This closure is necessary to facilitate paving operations as part of the ongoing improvement project to reconstruct the I-4 and Sand Lake Road interchange into a diverging diamond interchange (DDI).
For more information about the I-4 improvements at Sand Lake Road, visit the project website at I4Beyond.com/SandLake.
