Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing overnight Interstate 4 (I-4) off ramp closures at Sandspur Road/eastbound Maitland Boulevard (State Road (S.R.) 414) and Fairbanks Avenue (S.R. 426) in Orange County on the nights of Monday, August 18, and Wednesday, August 20.
The closures will begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning, with the last closure ending Thursday morning, August 21. These closures are necessary for road work on the ramps.
Motorists can expect the following overnight ramp closures:
Monday night, August 18:
- Eastbound I-4 exit ramps to Sandspur Road and eastbound Maitland Boulevard, Exit 90A
Wednesday night, August 20:
- Westbound I-4 exit ramp to Fairbanks Avenue, Exit 87

Detour Information for August 18 Overnight Closures
Motorists traveling on eastbound I-4 who wish to access eastbound Maitland Boulevard/Sandspur Road will continue east on I-4, then take Exit 90B onto westbound Maitland Boulevard and proceed west before taking the Keller Road exit. After exiting westbound Maitland Boulevard, motorists will make a U-turn onto eastbound Maitland Boulevard. From there, motorists who wish to access Sandspur Road will continue east, turn right onto southbound Maitland Avenue, and turn right again onto Sandspur Road.
Detour Information for August 20 Overnight Closure
Motorists traveling on westbound I-4 who wish to access Fairbanks Avenue will exit early at Lee Road (S.R. 423) (Exit 88), turning left onto eastbound Lee Road. From there, drivers will turn right onto southbound Wymore Road and proceed to Fairbanks Avenue.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
