Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing overnight Interstate 4 (I-4) off ramp closures at Sandspur Road/eastbound Maitland Boulevard (State Road (S.R.) 414) and Fairbanks Avenue (S.R. 426), and Princeton Street in Orange County on the nights of Monday, August 18, and Wednesday, August 20, and Thursday, August 21.
The closures will begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning, with the last closure ending Friday morning, August 22. These closures are necessary for road work on the ramps.
Motorists can expect the following overnight ramp closures:
Monday night, August 18:
- Eastbound I-4 exit ramps to Sandspur Road and eastbound Maitland Boulevard, Exit 90A
Wednesday night, August 20:
- Westbound I-4 exit ramp to Fairbanks Avenue, Exit 87
Thursday night, August 21:
- Westbound I-4 exit ramp to Princeton Street, Exit 85
- Eastbound I-4 exit ramp to Sandspur Road and eastbound Maitland Boulevard, Exit 90A
Please note: These two ramps will not close at the same time. Closures will occur one at a time.

Detour Information for August 18 Overnight Closures
Motorists traveling on eastbound I-4 who wish to access eastbound Maitland Boulevard/Sandspur Road will continue east on I-4, then take Exit 90B onto westbound Maitland Boulevard and proceed west before taking the Keller Road exit. After exiting westbound Maitland Boulevard, motorists will make a U-turn onto eastbound Maitland Boulevard. From there, motorists who wish to access Sandspur Road will continue east, turn right onto southbound Maitland Avenue, and turn right again onto Sandspur Road.
Detour Information for August 20 Overnight Closure
Motorists traveling on westbound I-4 who wish to access Fairbanks Avenue will exit early at Lee Road (S.R. 423) (Exit 88), turning left onto eastbound Lee Road. From there, drivers will turn right onto southbound Wymore Road and proceed to Fairbanks Avenue.
Detour Information for August 21 Overnight Closures
Motorists traveling on westbound I-4 who wish to access Princeton Street will continue west and exit at Ivanhoe Boulevard (Exit 84B), turning left onto eastbound Ivanhoe Boulevard. From there, motorists will turn left onto northbound North Orange Avenue and proceed to Princeton Street.
Motorists traveling on eastbound I-4 who wish to access eastbound Maitland Boulevard/Sandspur Road will take Exit 90B onto westbound Maitland Boulevard and proceed west before taking the Keller Road exit. After exiting westbound Maitland Boulevard, motorists will make a U-turn onto eastbound Maitland Boulevard. From there, motorists who wish to access Sandspur Road will continue east, turn right onto southbound Maitland Boulevard, and turn right again onto Sandspur Road.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
