ATTENTION DRIVERS: Overnight Closure of the Eastbound I-4 Entrance Ramp from Sand Lake Road July 14
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement an overnight closure of the eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) entrance ramp from Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R) 482) on Tuesday, July 14. The closure is scheduled to begin as early as 10 p.m. and end by 6 a.m. the morning of Wednesday, July 15.
This closure is necessary to shift eastbound I-4 traffic near Universal Boulevard approximately five feet to the right for barrier wall installation in the median of I-4.
NOTE: If this work is not completed on the night of Tuesday, July 14, the nights of Wednesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 16, will serve as backup dates for this work.

Detour for Eastbound I-4 Entrance Ramp from Sand Lake Road
- During the ramp closure, motorists west of I-4 on Sand Lake Road who wish to access eastbound I-4 should head north on Turkey Lake Road, turn right onto eastbound Hollywood Way, and then turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard to access eastbound I-4.
- Motorists east of I-4 on Sand Lake Road who wish to access eastbound I-4 should head north on International Drive and turn left onto northbound Universal Boulevard, then proceed to the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
