Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement overnight closures of the eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) at Exit 74A on the nights of Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5. The closures will begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and are expected to reopen by 6 a.m. each morning, with the final closure opening on the morning of Wednesday, May 6.
These closures are necessary for drilled shaft installation as part of the improvements to the I-4 and Sand Lake Road interchange.
See attached detour map and information below.
Detour for Eastbound I-4 Exit Ramp to Sand Lake Road
During the ramp closure, motorists traveling on eastbound I-4 who wish to access Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) will continue east and take Exit 75A at Universal Boulevard. Drivers will then turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to Sand Lake Road.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
