New Traffic Pattern on Westbound I-4 near Sand Lake Road

Motorists should be advised that a traffic shift on westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) just west of Sand Lake Road is scheduled to begin Monday, October 9.

Double lane closures are scheduled to occur on westbound I-4 near Sand Lake Road beginning as soon as 11:30 p.m. Monday, October 9 and are expected to be complete by 6 a.m. Tuesday, October 10. The closures are necessary to complete the shift.

Beginning as soon as 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, all westbound I-4 mainline traffic will be shifted onto new temporary pavement in the median of I-4. The traffic shift will provide space to allow crews to begin road and bridge construction for the Sand Lake Road and I-4 interchange project. The shift will remain in place as the project progresses. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists to follow all posted signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
