ATTENTION DRIVERS: Overnight Closures of Westbound I-4 Entrance Ramp from Apopka-Vineland Road October 7 and 8

Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) entrance ramp from Apopka-Vineland Road (State Road (S.R.) 535) overnight on Wednesday, October 7, and Thursday, October 8. The closures will begin as early as 10 p.m. both nights and are expected to end by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the final closure ending the morning of Friday, October 9.

These closures are necessary to prepare for a ramp shift.

NOTE: If this work is not completed as scheduled, the same closure and detour will occur during the same hours on the nights of Sunday, October 11, and Monday, October 12.

See detour information and map below.

Detour for Westbound I-4 Entrance Ramp from Apopka-Vineland Road

Motorists will head south on Apopka-Vineland Road, turn right onto westbound World Center Drive (S.R. 536), then take the loop ramp on the right to access westbound I-4.

Following the final closure, a new, temporary traffic pattern will be in place on southbound Apopka-Vineland Road. The existing free-flow lane to westbound I-4 will no longer be accessible. The right-most of the four southbound through lanes will become a dedicated right-turn lane to westbound I-4. Drivers turning right will yield to motorists with the green left-turn arrow turning onto the westbound I-4 entrance ramp from northbound Apopka-Vineland Road.

The other three southbound lanes will remain through lanes. Drivers who want to access the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp will use the right-most of the three through lanes, then merge right after traveling through the intersection to access the ramp.

This configuration is expected to be in place for approximately four months while crews complete work for the ramp’s final configuration.

FDOT advises motorists to follow all pavement markings and posted signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
