ATTENTION DRIVERS: Overnight I-4 Ramp Closures at the Sand Lake Road and Apopka-Vineland Road Interchanges September 21-24
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement overnight ramp closures at the Interstate 4 (I-4) interchanges of Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) and Apopka-Vineland Road (S.R. 535).
Ramp closures will begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and are expected to end by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the final closure ending the morning of Friday, September 25.
Closure Schedule:
- Monday, September 21 – Thursday, September 24: Westbound I-4 entrance ramp from Apopka-Vineland Road will close nightly for bridge work.
- Monday, September 21: Eastbound I-4 exit ramp to Sand Lake Road will close overnight to move a crane off-site.
These closures are part of the ongoing improvements to the I-4 interchanges at Sand Lake Road and Apopka-Vineland Road.

Detour for Westbound I-4 Entrance Ramp from Apopka-Vineland Road
Motorists will head south on Apopka-Vineland Road, turn right onto westbound World Center Drive (S.R. 536), then take the loop ramp on the right to access westbound I-4.
Detour for Eastbound I-4 Exit Ramp to Sand Lake Road
Motorists traveling on eastbound I-4 who wish to access Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) will continue east and take Exit 75A to Universal Boulevard. From there, turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to Sand Lake Road.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
