ATTENTION DRIVERS: Overnight Closures of the Sand Lake Road and Turkey Lake Road Intersection September 3

Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement intermittent overnight closures at the intersection of Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) and Turkey Lake Road on Thursday, September 3, as follows:

• The left-turn lanes from eastbound Sand Lake Road to northbound Turkey Lake Road will close as early as 11 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning. See detour information and map below.
• During two 15-minute periods, motorists traveling on Turkey Lake Road will be limited to right turns only at the intersection. Motorists traveling on Sand Lake Road will be able to continue through the intersection or turn right. The first 15-minute closure will occur sometime between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m., and the second will occur sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Law enforcement will direct traffic as crews work in the intersection.

These closures are necessary to repave part of the intersection and the inside left-turn lane from eastbound Sand Lake Road to northbound Turkey Lake Road following force main installation.

Detour: Eastbound Sand Lake Road to Northbound Turkey Lake Road

From eastbound Sand Lake Road, turn right onto southbound Turkey Lake Road. From there, turn right onto westbound Lake Marie Way. Turn left onto eastbound Sand Lake Sound Road and then left again onto northbound Turkey Lake Road.

Motorists should follow all posted signs, plan for extra travel time, and consider alternative routes. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
