ATTENTION DRIVERS: Overnight Closures of the Eastbound I-4 Exit Ramp to Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) August 16-20
Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement overnight closures of the eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) at Exit 74A on the following dates:
- Sunday, August 16, through Tuesday, August 18 – 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Wednesday, August 19, and Thursday, August 20 – 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The final closure will end the morning of Friday, August 21. These closures are necessary for crews to shift traffic onto the new eastbound I-4 exit ramp to Sand Lake Road, and for barrier wall and light pole installation.
Crews plan to shift traffic onto the new ramp as early as Tuesday morning, August 18.

Detour for Eastbound I-4 Exit Ramp to Sand Lake Road
Motorists traveling on eastbound I-4 who wish to access Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) will continue east and take exit 75A to Universal Boulevard. From there, turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to Sand Lake Road.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
