ATTENTION DRIVERS: Overnight Closures of Westbound I-4 Express from John Young Parkway to Kirkman Road September 14 and 15

Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will close all lanes of westbound I-4 Express from John Young Parkway (State Road (S.R.) 423) to the end of I-4 Express just west of Kirkman Road (S.R. 435) overnight on Monday, September 14, and Tuesday, September 15. The closures will begin as early as 11 p.m. both nights and are expected to end by 5:30 a.m. the following morning, with the final closure ending the morning of Wednesday, September 16.

These closures are necessary for striping and barrier wall placement for overhead sign construction.

NOTE: If this work is not completed as scheduled, the same closure and detour will occur during the same hours on the nights of September 21 and 22.

Following the first night of the closure, crews will implement a continuous closure of the right lane of westbound I-4 Express just east of the Kirkman Road overpass for continued overhead sign construction. This lane closure will remain in place until the sign work is completed.

Detour Information

Motorists traveling westbound on I-4 Express will be directed to exit the express lanes onto the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) general-use lanes near John Young Parkway (local exits 78-74AB).

Access to and from westbound I-4 Express direct connect ramps at Florida’s Turnpike and Grand National Drive will be restricted as part of the full closure.

FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
