ATTENTION DRIVERS: Overnight Ramp Closures at I-4 and Sand Lake Road Interchange Extended to August 6, 9-13

Update: Overnight closures of the eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to Sand Lake Road (State Road (S.R.) 482) have been extended to include the nights of August 6 and August 9-13. Closures of the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp from Sand Lake Road have been postponed. See the revised schedule below.

Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement overnight closures of the I-4 exit ramp to Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) on the following dates:

  • Thursday, August 6
  • Sunday, August 9, through Thursday, August 13

Closures will begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and are expected to end by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the final closure ending the morning of Friday, August 14.

These closures are necessary for paving, barrier wall installation, and striping work on the ramp as part of the ongoing improvements to the I-4 and Sand Lake Road interchange.

See detour information and map below.

Motorists traveling on eastbound I-4 who wish to access Sand Lake Road (Exit 74A) will continue east and take Exit 75A to Universal Boulevard. Motorists will then turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard and proceed to Sand Lake Road.

FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
