Seat belts campaign for Click It or Ticket

Safety Starts with a Click

The Click It or Ticket campaign is a nationwide effort that reminds drivers and passengers to buckle up every trip, every time. Wearing a seat belt is one of the easiest and most effective ways to stay safe on the road.

Seat belts save lives by keeping you secure in your seat during a crash. Without a seat belt, you are more likely to be seriously injured or thrown from the vehicle. It only takes a few seconds to buckle up and make a life-saving difference.

In Florida, not wearing a seat belt is a primary offense, meaning law enforcement can pull you over solely for this violation. The penalty includes a $30 base fine, plus court costs that often total over $100. If a child is not properly restrained, the driver faces a $60 base fine and may also receive 3 points on their license.

Make it part of your routine to check that everyone in your vehicle is buckled before you start driving. This includes passengers in the front and back seats. Parents and caregivers should also ensure children are in the correct car seats or booster seats.
