Motorists should be advised that a new traffic shift in both directions of the Daryl Carter Parkway overpass at Interstate 4 (I-4) will begin as soon as the night of Sunday, July 28.
Construction crews will shift westbound traffic to the north side of the bridge with a single through lane. Eastbound traffic will remain on the south side with a single through lane but will partially shift toward the median.
The traffic shift is anticipated to be in place for two weeks and is necessary to complete drainage installation. Motorists should follow posted signage, stay within the barrier-separated through lanes, and reduce speed when traveling through the work zone.
The I-4 and Daryl Carter Parkway interchange project is transforming the Daryl Carter Parkway overpass into a diverging diamond interchange, providing additional access to local attractions, and helping to relieve congestion at the I-4 and Apopka-Vineland Road (State Road 535) interchange.
Construction started in 2022 and is expected to be complete by early 2026.
