FDOT Plans Public Meeting in November To Show Plans for I-4 in South Orange County

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public meeting in November to talk about proposed improvements to Interstate 4 (I-4) at three interchanges in south Orange County.

The meeting will focus on plans for significant improvements to the interchanges of Sand Lake Road (S.R. 482), Beachline Expressway (S.R. 528) and Central Florida Parkway – all are part of the I-4 Beyond the Ultimate project.

Project engineers will be on-site to answer questions and explain the changes with the help of large display maps, artist renderings, a video and informational handouts. The public has the opportunity to comment and ask questions on the project.

The designs intended to improve traffic flow and safety at these three interchanges include creating a modified diverging diamond interchange at the Sand Lake Road interchange, building entrance and exit ramps at Central Florida Parkway and adding Express Lanes direct connect ramps to S.R. 528.

It is slated to begin construction in 2020, and eventually connect seamlessly to the southernmost portion of the 21-mile I-4 Ultimate project, which concludes in 2021.
